What We Do

At Autism Doctor, we offer Neuroaffirmative assessment, diagnosis and management advice for a variety of Neurodevelopmental conditions in children, including

Developmental Delay

Learning Difficulties

Neuroaffirmative means acknowledging that all individuals have different abilities and how they interact with the world around them. The differences are not considered wrong and need to be “fixed”.

Rather, we believe that Neurodiversity is natural form of human diversity.

Our autism specialist team can diagnose Autism in girls and children who can be good at masking symptoms.

We can also assess for Emotional Dysregulation often presenting as Demand Avoidance in Autism.

All our assessments are based on recommended standards or national guidelines, such as the National Institute of

Clinical Excellence (NICE)  guidelines.

We follow the Diagnostic Statistical Manual-5 (DSM-5) TR / ICD -11, which is a book on international diagnostic standards

to consider a diagnosis

Book The Right Assessment

There are different types of assessments offered at Autism Doctor to include a wide variety of childhood Neurodevelopmental conditions.

Each assessment is individualised to suit your child's needs.

Initial Assessment

The initial assessment offers a great start to your child's assessment process. It allows you to explain your child's needs and allows the professional to formulate a clinical opinion and guide you on the best next step(s).

Most parents find this helpful when there is lack of clarity regarding possible diagnoses.

What People Say

We recently spent time working with Dr Thakur to support us with our teenage daughter and went through a full review and assessment process. Having met a number of professionals in recent months, we would highly recommend Dr Thakur, not only for her assistance from a medical perspective, but as someone who is hugely empathetic, extremely kind (to us as well as our daughter) and who really ‘goes the extra mile’ to help her patients.

She has spent time understanding all aspects of our daughter’s case rather than rushing in to make conclusions. Instead, she has worked with her team to review all elements to ensure she has really been able to fully assess the situation.

We would highly recommend Dr Thakur as someone with a huge amount of knowledge, integrity and a wonderful kindness which is needed for families and individuals facing challenging situations.
